Personal Overview

My name is Peter van Gils, and I’m a 19-year-old rugby player from the Netherlands. I currently play for Rugby Club t’Gooi in the first team.  I have represented the Dutch national team an U17, U18 and U20 level. With U18 we came third in the European Championchips last year and this year we came second with the U20’s. I am also representing Delta in the Eurpean Super Cup

At the moment, I’m also part of the Aspire academy in the Netherlands, where I’ve been working hard to improve my skills and develop as a player. My main position is second row but I can also play flanker (6).

I’m passionate about rugby and always looking for ways to push myself and reach the next level. I’m eager to take on new challenges and gain experience that will help me grow both on and off the field. My goal is to make the most out of my rugby career, and I’m excited to see where this journey takes me.

A powerful and versatile forward currently competing at the highest level in the Netherlands. Combines elite height for set-piece dominance with the mobility required for modern back-row play. Proven international experience through the Dutch National pathway, including multiple European Championship podium finishes.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Lineout: Primary jumper and caller; excellent aerial timing and securing of possession.
• Defense: High tackle completion rate; specialized in "chop" tackles and breakdown pressure.
• Ball Carrying: Strong "go-forward" runner used for breaking the gain line in heavy traffic.

Conditioning: Elite-level fitness; successfully manages Type 1 Diabetes to maintain peak performance during 80-minute matches.
